Educational activities aimed at artists and art professionals are organized with the firm belief that an understanding of national identity as well as social changes and development can originate from active participants of society. Bactria Cultural Centre has the great pleasure to announce the opening of its 2009/2010 courses session on September 21, with a larger educational offer and improved learning conditions!
Since its foundation in December 2001, Bactria has been striving to provide you with the best educational service to widen your academic and professional perspectives. The educational novelties for the sessions to come have been devised in this view.
What remains…
In continuity with last session, Bactria offers English, French and German language courses with respective diplomas recognized by the Ministry of Education of Tajikistan.
At the end of each session, learners of French can take the internationally recognized DELF/DALF exams for which Bactria was accredited as a test centre by the French Ministry of Education in 2006.
What has changed!
There are two major innovations in terms of course contents:
- First, besides General English and French, you can now study Professional English and French, applied to Business communication skills, starting at the pre-intermediate / intermediate level!
- Second, all courses (general and professional) put greater emphasis on cultural and contemporary issues thanks to an additional weekly thematic class.
The German language course remains focused on general teaching for now. However, Bactria and the Goethe Institut are collaborating to open a German Language Learning Centre in order to offer you advanced German learning conditions and opportunities as soon as 2010.
In addition, courses have been fully adapted to comply with standards defined by the Common European Framework of Reference for Language courses (CEFRL). It has entailed the following reorganization:

As a result of the continuous degradation of Tajik educational structure, from a unified primary and secondary education under the Soviets, barely 60 percent of Tajikistan’s current school-age population is receiving educational opportunities. Through opportunities for learning and vocational training BACTRIA aims at democratizing access to information and education. |
